nuos logoAdmiral Makarov National University of Shipbuilding (NUS) is a leading higher education institution in Ukraine, which trains specialists for shipbuilding and related industries, the maritime industry and other sectors of the Ukrainian economy.
The date of foundation of NUS, as a higher educational institution, is September 18, 1920, when an industrial technical college was opened in Mykolaiv.
Considering the national and international recognition of the results of the activities of the Admiral Makarov Ukrainian State Maritime Technical University, its significant contribution to the development of national education and science, the Presidential Decree of March 25, 2004 approved to grant the university the status of national and to name it "National University of Shipbuilding ».
NUS them. adm. Makarov is the only in Ukraine unique institution of higher education, which provides training for shipbuilding, shipbuilding, machine-building, energy, maritime complexes of Ukraine and other countries of the world according to international norms and requirements. Confirmation of this is the receipt in 2014 of international and national certificates of quality of training of specialists ISO 9001: 2008 and DSTU ISO 9001: 2009 from the world leader among qualifying companies Bureau Veritas Certification Ukraine. Every year, the company performs the audit of the functioning of the quality management system of NUS, and in 2017 the university successfully passed a certification audit for compliance with the requirements of the new edition of the standard ISO 9001: 2015, according to which. adm. Makarov received certificates of conformity of ISO 9001: 2015 under number UA228700 and DSTU ISO 9001: 2015 under number UA228701 with validity until February 8, 2021.
The University provides training of engineering and scientific personnel of high qualification - junior specialists, junior bachelors, bachelors, masters of full-time and correspondence forms of study, PhD, Ph.D. and Ph.D.
The educational process in NUS. adm. Makarov is provided by 49 chairs, where 541 teachers work, 63 of them are doctors of science, 90 professors, 276 candidates of sciences, 270 associate professors. Among the higher educational establishments of the III-IV level of accreditation in the Nikolaev area adm. For many years, Makarova holds a leading position in the number of students, specialties, teachers with academic degrees and titles, scientific schools and fields of research.
