Founded in 1992, Berdyansk Institute of Entrepreneurship (since 2007 Berdyansk University of Management and Business) has become one of the first private high school in the region created to train the specialists to work in a market economy conditions, this goal was identified as a priority and future direction.

October 18, 1945 is considered to be the official date of Uzhhorod State University foundation. In 2000 For a significant contribution to the development of national education and science the University was conferred national status and renamed Uzhhorod National University with the fourth level of accreditation by the Decree of the President of Ukraine.

Mukachevo State University is one of the largest scientific, methodological and cultural centers of Zakarpattia region. It is a multi-disciplinary educational institution that provides training by four University Faculties in specialties: Preschool Education; Primary Education; Secondary Education (Music Art); Music Art; Secondary Education (English Language and Foreign Literature); Information, Library and Archive Business; Psychology; Geosciences; Hotel and Restaurant Business; Tourism; Museology and Monument Study; Professional Education (Design); Professional Education (Economy); Professional Education (Garment Industry); Accounting and Taxation; Finance, Banking and Insurance; Management; Public Management and Administration; Marketing; Industrial Engineering; Light Manufacturing (Footwear and Haberdashery Design; Garment Technologies and Design). Educational process in Mukachevo State University is carried out by 198 teachers, among them 16 Doctors of Sciences and Professors, 112 PhD holders. Students of all specialties have opportunity to apply for Double Diploma Program, and participate in EU-funded Semester Academic Exchange Program.

Lesya Ukrainka Eastern European National University The educational institution began its history in 1940, when the Lutsk State Teachers’ Institute was established. At the moment the University is made up of 7 Institutes, 9 departments, 75 Chairs of the Department with professional academic staff. Dozens of our students annually win prizes at regional, national and international competitions and contests.

Ternopil Volodymyr Hnatiuk National Pedagogical is one of the leading centers of higher pedagogical education in Ukraine, educational and cultural center of Ternopil and one of the oldest universities in western Ukraine. Ivan Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine is a higher education institution of with level IV accreditation in Ukraine. TNMU regularly leads various national and international rankings of universities. The university has twenty years of experience in teaching international students in English. Currently, 1,556 students from 53 countries study here. TNMU has some of the best facilities among universities in Ukraine, with its students having access to modern lecture halls, a library, a simulation training center with practical medical classes, laboratories, the university hospital as well as clinical facilities distributed among 17 healthcare providers in the area.

Today about 1,400 foreign students including 290 full-time students from neighboring countries study at Sumy State University. Today the university has launched the English-language projects in the specialties: "General Medicine", "Management of Organizations and Administration", "Informatics", "Marketing", "Physical and Biomedical Electronics", "Information Technologies of Design", "Economics of Environment and Natural Resources" (Master Programme), "Economics of Enterprise" (Master Programme), "Business Administration” (Master Programme). The total number of foreign students studying in English is about 600 people.
In July 2009, SSU Medical Institute entered the list of the higher education institutions of the World Health Organization Database (Avicenna Directories).
All specialties of the Faculty of Economics and Management are certificated by International Education Society Ltd (Great Britain). International certificate gives an opportunity to come up to better results in job searching at the international and native job markets, as well as to provide employers with relevant information, which is usually not included into appropriate certificates.
International students take an active part in academic competitions, are engaged into scientific work, make reports at the scientific and practical conferences of the University and other higher education establishments of Ukraine, publish their works in scientific journals. Foreign citizens, if desired, can continue their studies in post-graduate programmes (doctorate programme).

Sumy National Agrarian University is a higher educational establishment with IV level of accreditation; it is one of the best agrarian universities of Ukraine. Sumy National Agrarian University was founded in 1977, for 40 years of its existence, it has gone from Sumy branch of Kharkiv Agricultural Institute named after V.V. Oleksandr Dovzhenko Hlukhiv National Pedagogical University (henceforth the university) is situated in the ancient, charming and cosy town of Hlukhiv in the northwest of Ukraine. The town boasts numerous green zones, historical buildings, churches, monuments, and plenty of students. A few years ago, Hlukhiv was named as the town with the cleanest air in Ukraine. The university was founded on 25 October 1874 and is one of the oldest Pedagogical Higher Education Institutions in Ukraine. It's majestic old red and white buildings stand out while the modern building is painted in the colours of the national flag. The university was named after the screenwriter, producer and director Oleksandr Dovzhenko who studied there and is often cited as one of the most important early Soviet filmmakers. Students are able to attain academic degrees of Bachelor’s, Master’s and Ph.D. Nowadays, there are more than 4,000 students at the university and they have the opportunity to become professionals in areas such as language and literature, natural science, pedagogics, technological and pre-school education. Students participate in worldwide mobility programs such as Work and Travel (USA), Au Pair (Germany), AISEC (China), Study Abroad (Poland). Additionally, both students and teachers are beginning to take advantage of the Erasmus+ Program in Germany. The programs give the opportunity to visit different countries all over the world and experience working and studying abroad. There are also many extracurricular activities at the university for students to take part in including social, sports, and art clubs. Student art clubs includes embroidery, woodwork and paintings. The university is proud of its graduates and especially of its sportsmen. Mykola Koltakov is a Master of Sport in powerlifting and Serhiy Sednev was a captain of the men's national biathlon team.

The National University of Ostroh Academy is the successor of Ostroh Slavic, Greek and Latin Academy, the first higher educational establishment of the Eastern Slavs. The chronicles of the revived Ostroh Academy in Independent Ukraine started in 1994 with the Decree of the President of Ukraine. By virtue of succeeding decrees of the President of Ukraine, development of Ostroh Academy received a new impact for further growth. In October 2000, Ostroh Academy officially became the National University. Accordingly, the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on July, 29, 2009 №798, the Academy received the status of autonomous research national higher educational establishment. There are five Faculties and I. Malynovskyi Institute of Law offering sixteen prestigious specialities: Faculty of Political Studies and Information Management ("Documentation and Information", "Political Studies", "Psychology"); Faculty of Economics ("Finance", "Economic Cybernetics"); Faculty of Romance and Germanic Languages; Faculty of Humanities ("Cultural Studies", "Ukrainian Philology", "Journalism", "Literary Studies", "Religious Studies", "Theology"); Faculty of International Relations ("History", "Country Studies", "International Relations"); I. Rivne State University of Humanities is one of the most prestigious higher educational institutions in the West region that was the first according to the amount of applicants in Rivne region last year and considering some specialties it was the first even in the whole region.The University celebrated its 75th birthday anniversary. The structure of the University includes 4 colleges, and common amount of students is nearly 9000. The staff of 693 work in the University, 400 among them have academic degree.Nowadays the University offers the studying according to such prospective specialties as International relations, social communication and regional studies, Management, Public administration and management, Computer sciences, Applied mathematics, Philology (including translation), Management of social and cultural activities, Psychology, Ecology, and others. 

International University of Economics and Humanities named after Academician Stepan Demianchuk is the first private higher educational establishment in Western Ukraine. The first important date of its history is 1993. According to the decision of the International Pedagogical Academy (IPA) Rivne Research and Consulting Center (a branch of the IPA), that was registered by the Ministry of Education of Ukraine as an institution with the right to train specialists. For the last 16 years the University has trained over 13,000 highly skilled professionals who have received state diplomas.

National University of Water and Environmental Engineering (NUWEE) conducts its educational and scientific activity according to the license of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine AE № 636444 from 04.06.2015. Status: state higher educational institution, Accreditation level: 4 (Certificate № 1872948 from 15.12.2014). NUWEE is the largest technical University in Rivne region and the leading HEE of Ukraine.
